Card Wallet

Terms of Service

Last updated: July 5, 2026

These terms apply when you use Card Wallet ("the app"), made by COVRU, a company based in Brampton, Ontario, Canada. Card Wallet is a free, offline app that stores your membership and loyalty cards on your device. By using the app, you agree to these terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how the app handles data (short version: everything stays on your device).

1. What the app does

Card Wallet stores card names, numbers, barcodes, notes, and photos you add, and renders scannable barcodes and QR codes from the numbers you enter. Everything is stored locally on your device. There are no accounts, servers, or subscriptions, and the app is provided free of charge.

2. Your responsibilities

3. App licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the app for your own use. The app includes open-source components, which are licensed under their own terms (viewable in the app under Open source licences). You may not copy, modify, sell, or redistribute the app itself except as permitted by law.

4. No affiliation with card issuers

Card Wallet is a personal organizational tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any merchant, gym, library, transit agency, or other issuer of the cards you store. Whether a merchant accepts a barcode displayed from a phone screen is entirely up to that merchant.

5. Disclaimer of warranties

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be error-free, that barcodes will scan on every reader, or that your data will never be lost. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, COVRU will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages — including lost data, lost rewards or points, missed discounts, or denied transactions — arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app. To the extent any liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability is limited to CAD $10 or the amount you paid for the app (which is zero), whichever is greater. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under applicable consumer protection law that cannot be waived.

7. Changes to the app and these terms

We may update, change, or discontinue the app at any time. We may also update these terms; the "Last updated" date above will change when we do. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the revised terms.

8. Termination

You can stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it, which deletes its locally stored data. These sections survive termination: 5 (Disclaimer), 6 (Limitation of liability), and 9 (Governing law).

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of Ontario, unless the consumer protection law where you live gives you the right to a different venue.
